Howdy!
Welcome to my neck of the woods. Here you can find some information about me, including recordings videos, and score samples of representative performances and compositions. Please feel free to contact me about any of the material you see here on my Contact page.
Here is the “Fast Swing” movement from my “Six New Diversions for Flute and Soprano Saxophone”, recently recorded by Nicole Riner and Scott Turpen of the great VerismoTrio.
Since I have been performing both Jazz and Classical gigs since high school days in Florida, it is logical that my composition style exhibits a strong Jazz influence. I compose in all types of acoustic media, including music for chamber ensembles, concert band pieces, concerti, piano music, and film scores.
I enjoy writing long lyrical ballad type lines in slow movements, and writing very rhythmic, often high pressure fast movements. I especially like to write challenging pieces for performers to show their skills. Although I am classically trained, the musical examples you hear on these pages show my love for Jazz and Blues!
Here is my “Syncopatin’ Sam” from my Oregon Impressions CD, performed by the superb pianist Rhonda Rizzo.
Finally, I included a page dedicated to our Scottish Terriers, both past and present.
Thanks for stopping by!
